Hey all!
Has anyone here tried to add a front brake switch to a model 92? I'm considering drilling a couple of holes in the hub(same spot as model years that included front) and rigging it up from there.
For adding to the wire harness: would it be best to modify rear brake leads off the main harness, to add another connection? Or could I user another model's wire harness in place?(need to buy a new one anyway).
Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Adding front brake switch to a model 92...
If you are not going for a period correct restoration, the front brake lever and perch from an 03 Wombat or the 250s have the brake light switch built right in. Much cleaner than another set of wires running down the fork leg.
Re: Adding front brake switch to a model 92...
I'm somewhat of a purist and would hesitate to drill holes if I were in your position.
I think a later brake plate with the holes is readily available if you wanted to just switch them. I believe any of the Ace 100B/B+ and Wombat plates would work.
There is a connection under the seat where the leads from the rear brake switch connect to the harness. You'll need two very long red wire leads that go from the brake switch to this connector. Replace the single connectors with double connectors on the leads from the harness, and plug in one rear and one front to each lead from the harness.
Another way to do it is to find a brake perch with the brake wires incorporated into it. like this one: http://hodaka-parts.com/item.asp?cID=1710&PID=473 I think this is the way I would go.

Thanks for the input and good call on the brake perch with the switch integrated. Didn't even think about that!
I considered a later backing plate to the hub, but was seeing that 100b/b+, had a larger front wheel. This I assume would mean a larger hub?
Thanks again.
